Detained at Monfalcone
According to the local press report, bulk carrier Eylem (9978 gt, built 2000), en route from Mykolaiv, Ukraine, was detained in Monfalcone following a Port State Control inspection, on Jun 30. During the inspection, the Harbour Master officials discovered serious irregularities in respect to the international regulations. It was reported that some twenty deficiencies were found relating to malfunctioning radar, irregular records of vessel documents, critical crew living conditions (toilet facilities out of order, expired food products, non-compliance to working/rest hours) lead to the detention of the vessel, which will remain in port until the situation has been remedied to the satisfaction of the Harbour Master.
