Heraklitos

The 'Heraklitos' has been detained in Brake following a port state control on April 14, 2026. The inspectors found 30 defiencies 12 of which were being regarded as seriously and grounds for a detention. They must be rectified before the ship can depart. Among other things, doors and fire doors did not close properly, emergency escape ladders were missing from the cranes, some lighting were broken or missing, manhole covers to the cargo holds could not be closed, toilets were not working, and some bathrooms were in a dilapidated state, hatch covers did not close properly, the refrigerated storage for provisions was in a dilapidated state, the ballast water system was not functioning correctly and the sewage treatment plant was not functioning correctly. The crew was unable to conduct a fire drill, and onboard communication was limited due to a lack of radio equipment. The ship remained stationary as of April 16.
