The 19 crew members on board the "Hermes" were tested for the new coronavirus on Aug 7, 2020, after the ship berthed at Tromsø. Parts of the crew have respiratory symptoms, but no one was sick. The owner wanted to make sure that there was no potential source of further infections. The shipping company immediately set up emergency teams. The trawler was commissioned by the Directorate of Fisheries to observe various fish stocks when the voyage was interrupted. The vessel was scheduled to dock in Tromsø on Aug 10 for unloading and partial crew change, but after a dialogue with the shipping company, it was agreed to end the trip as it was impossible to know whether the people on board the vessel have Covid-19 or not.
