Henneke Rambow causes high waves which hit man on electric wheel chair
The pensioner had been moving on Deichverteidigungsweg between pier 4 and the lock installation at 11 clock in Brunsbuttel with his electric wheelchairs , when the container ship " Henneke Rambow " ,ran out of the Great South Canallock towards river Elbe . The container ship was accelerated so much that it obviously pushed a very high bow wave in front, which ran up the embankment ,"a witness informed the police . "The water was apparently the wheelchair man up to the neck." A witness , who also walked in the area , could save himself by fleeing up on the to the dike ahead of the wave . The soaking wet and supercooled wheelchair driver was taken by ambulance to the West Coast Hospital Brunsbuttel and hospitalized there. The water police Brunsbuttel is investigating.
