Medevac off Rügen
On oct 5, 2015, a crew member of the "KRistin" fell ill east of Rügen island. At 11.45 p.m. the MRCC Bremen was alerted after the man had suffered a suspected heart attack and needed immediate medical assistance. The lifeboat "Hannes Glogner" of the DGzRS station Sassnitz was alerted and speeded with an emergency and paaramedics on board towars the vessel which was near the Königsstuhl where it went alongside in calm seas. The 38 year old man of Swedish nationality was stibilzied so far that he could be transferred onto the lifeboat and delivered to an ambulance in Sassnitz which took him to hospital for further treatment.
