Medevac off Algarve
The Portuguese Air Force on Feb 4, 2017, medevaced a crew member of the "Sloman Helios". A 751 Squadron ‘Pumas’ EH-101 Merlin was sent to the ship, which was around 40 km from the Algarve coast. The crew member was hoisted up to the helicopter, before being flown to a nearby hospital in Lisbon. The helicopter then returned to its air base, having completed the mission in three hours.
