Medevac off Porbandor
The maritime rescue subcentre of the Coast Guard at Porbandar received a call about medical emergency on the 'Helen M' on April 24, 2023, at 10 p.m. The tanker was en route from Sikka to Durban and was about 200 kilometers off the Porbandar coast.The interceptor boat 'C-161' reached the vessel in the early morning of April 25. The crew member — an Indian whose index finger on the right hand was severed — was medevaced and was given first aid. Later, he was taken to Porbandar for further treatment.
