Medevac off Trincomale
With the coordination of the MRCC Colombo, the Sri Lanka Navy brought ashore a critically ill crew member of the 'Iyo', which was, sailing in the Eastern seas off Trincomale, and transferred him to the Trincomalee General Hospital for treatment on Oct 26, 2025. The vessel was en route from Kanazawa to Chennai, when the Filipino crew member suffered from severe abdominal pain. The vessel requested naval assistance to medevac the man to provide urgent medical attention. The Navy dispatched a craft attached to the Eastern Naval Command, along with a medical team, to the location of the vessel to transfer the patient ashore. Subsequently, initial first aid was administered to stabilize the patient and facilitate his transfer.
