Vessel detained after PSC
The 'King 2' was subjected to a port state control (PSC) inspection at the port of Gythion on Feb 24, 2021. Subsequently, the vessel was detained under the Paris MOU. The PSC inspectors detained the vessel due to serious deficiencies that fell within the directive of Annex "X" of KO 2009/16 / EC.
Two missing after collision on Yantze river
The Chinese cargo m/v "Chong Lunj 3010", 5772 dwt (MMSI-No.: 41377291), was in collision with the "New Sailing 2" on July 31, 2017, at 10.29 p.m. at Taicang on the Yangtze river. The "New Sailing 2" with a cargo of timber was bound to Taicang, the "Chong Lunj 3010" with a cargo of 183 containers and 15 crew members on board was en route from Chongging to Shanghai. She sank after collision, two crew members went missing. There were more than 180 containers on board, most of them went overboard when the vessel sank. A large-scale SAR operation was launched with five vessels and 20 nearby ships in order to rescue the castaways and find the missing crew members and recover floating containers. The "New Sailing 2" suffered only minor damage.
