Medevac off La Réunion
A Filipino sailor was medevaced by helicopter off Réuion island from the "Ikan Bagat" on Apr 1, 2017. The 38-year old sailor complained about severe chest pain and breathing difficulties. The helicopter of the gendarmerie took off at 5:30 p.m. towards the "Ikan Bagat" which was underway from Paradip to Santos and diverted to the island . The patient was hoisted about 24 kilometers from Saint-Pierre before nightfall and transported to the Félix Guyon hospital in Saint-Denis.
