Bulkcarrier dragged anchor and damaged coral reef
On May 28, 2017, the "Global Standard", being anchored north of Ko Si Chang on the Laem Chabang – Sri Racha anchorage, dragged an anchor in adverse weather with squalls and heavy rain. The vessel contacted bottom and damaged coral reefs on an area of 2800 square meters . The damage was calculated to be 42,200 Baht per square meter basis which could on the whole be $3.5 mil. On May 31, the bulkcarrier was anchored on Ko Si Chang anchorage, Sri Racha.
