Pirate attack foiled
On Oct 6 a pirate attack on the "Jag Amar" was foiled in the Gulf of Aden. Allegedly, 12 pirates attacked the bulkcarrier off the Oman coast. The ship was en route from Constanta to Jubail. The nearby Indian Navy frigate INS "Trishul" immediately responded after receiving alert message at 12.30 a.m., and somehow foiled the attack, seizing an AK 47, one magazine with 27 rounds, grapnels, ropes, fuel drums and ladders.
