Greek dry bulk owner Diana Shipping has sealed a new charter for 2013-built panamax Ismene. The vessel will go out on charter today to Koch Shipping in Singapore for a period of 13-15 months at $12,125 per day. Despite an improving dry bulk market, the rate is only marginally higher than the $12,000 per day previously being paid for the vessel by DHL Project and Chartering. Diana Shipping says the new charter will generate around $4.6m of gross revenue based on the minimum time charter period.

Diana Shipping Inc., a global shipping company specializing in the ownership of dry bulk vessels, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, has entered into a time charter contract with DHL Project & Chartering Limited, Hong Kong, for one of its Panamax dry bulk vessels, the m/v Ismene. The gross charter rate is US$12,000 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period of minimum twelve (12) months to maximum fifteen (15) months. The charter is expected to commence on September 16, 2017. The m/v Ismene is currently chartered, as previously announced, to Glencore Grain B.V., Rotterdam, at a gross charter rate of US$5,850 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties. The “Ismene” is a 77,901 dwt Panamax dry bulk vessel built in 2013.
