Ferry suffered technical issue
The 'Isle of Mull', serving on the route Oban-Castlebay-Lochboisdale, suffered a technical issue on March 14, which required further investigations. As a consequence, the service was announced to be liable to disruption or cancellation at short notice.
Ferry suffered technical issue with engine governor
The 'Isle of Mull', serving on the route Oban-Craignure, suffered a technical issue with the starboard side engine governor on Feb 11, 2026. As a consequence, a number of sailings on Feb 12 had to be cancelled. Affected were the departures from Oban at 07:20 a.m., 09:50 a.m., 12:25 p.m. and the departure from Craignure at 08:40 a.m., 11:00 a.m., 01:35 p.m. The 03:50 p.m. deparure from Oban and the 05:00 p.m. sailing departing Craignure remained liable to disruption or cancellation at short notice. To provide additional capacity, the 'Loch Frisa' operated the following additional sailings: Departure Craignure - 09:45 a.m. Arrival Oban - 10:45 a.m. Departure Oban - 11:05 a.m. Arrival Craignure - 12:05 p.m. The 'Clansman' operated an amended timetable. The repairs to the 'Isle of Mull' have been completed on Feb 13, and the vessel resume its service with the 07:20 a.m. sailing from Oban. To allow for testing of the repairs, the sailings, however, remained liable to disruption at short notice.
Passenger lift out of order
The lift of the 'Isle of Mull', serving on the route Oban-Craignure, was out out of service on Aug 23. An engineer went on board and carried out repairs. Customers were advised that the passenger access system in both Oban and Craignure remained in operation. Passengers who required assistance were advised to travel aboard the ferry 'Loch Frisa'.

After repairs were successfully completed, the vessel started loading operations, but there may be a knock on delay to the sailings for the remainder of the day. Customers were advised, however, to check in as normal.
Evacuation slides repairs pushed back
The 'Isle of Mull' return was pushed back a little further. CalMac's expectation was to have the evacuation slides repaired and be ready to re- enter service by June 25. That represented a 10 day extension on the original plan, which would have seen her return by June 15. Due to the knock-on effect of delays to the 'Finlaggan's over-haul, that date was pushed back another four days to June 29. The ferry will be heading for dry-dock in Greenock on May 24, to have her new marine evacuation slides fitted. That gives five weeks to have the work done, to return just before the peak month of July. All those with affected bookings should be contacted by CalMac.
