Havbris grounded north of Langøya

On Jan 24, 2018, at 6.34 a.m. the "Havbris" ran hard aground on the Brakan rock, north of Langøya in pos. 63 05N, 07 27E in the Averøy municipality. The ship was on its way from Trondheim to Åheim in Vanylven.The lifeboat "Erik Bye" was quickly on scene to assist the crew of six. The Coastguard deployed the "KV Njord" and the tug "BB Lifter" arrived on site at 8 a.m. At 08:30 a.m. she managed to pull the ship of and left the scene after an engine test was successful. A slight water ingress could be kept under control by the crew of the freighter. At 10.20 a.m. the "Havbris" berthed in Kristiansund. She left the port again on Jan 25 at 10 p.m. and was docked at the Bolderaya Shipyard in Riga on Jan 31 at 9 p.m. She left the yard after repairs on Feb 16 at 5 p.m. and headed toStenungsund as next port of call, ETA Feb 20. Cargo ship refloated and underway to Svendborg

The "Jago" was refloated in the night of Mar 26 and proceeded to Svendborg with own power for further inspections. It was expected in port during the following foremidday and remained under detention. The anti pollution vessel "Marie Miljø" remained on site during the refloating work, but no oil spill from the ship was detected. The "Susanne A" proceeded to Horsens after the work was completed.

The "Jago" ran aground enroute to Brugge on Mar 22 short after leaving Ærøskøbing at 6 a.m. Several attempts to pull the ship off have failed since. On Mar 23 two smaller tugs unsuccessfully tried to pull the coaster free. The salvage ship "Susanne A" (IMO:9099183) was called from Frederikshavn and has now reached the position in order to undertake another attempt to pull the "Jago" which has meanwhile partially lightered the cargo over board with its own dredger on deck, off the ground. The anti Pollution vessel "Marie Miljø" is on scene and released the Danish patrol boats "Havfruen" and "Diana" which had previously monitored the site.
