144 migrants rescued in several missions
In the night of July 5 and during the following day, the CROSS Gris-Nez identified several boats in difficulty in the Strait of Pas-de-Calais. The 'Jacques Oudart Fourmentin' picked up 47 people on board off Le Touquet. The semi-rigid 'SNS 709 Jean Baptiste' from the SNSM station of Berck-sur-Mer recovered 33 castaways off Fort-Mahon-Plage and transferred them onto the patrol boat. The tug 'Abeille Normandie' rescued 21 people in the Calais sector. The 'Hauts de France' rescued 43 shipwrecked people off the beach at Hardelot. All of the 144 castaways were landed at the port of Boulogne-sur-Mer, where they were taken care of by the border police and the departmental fire and emergency services.
