Crew member fell over board and died
A crew member of the 'Ameland' died after falling from the ship in Westdorpe in the evening of March 30, 2023. Divers from the fire service recovered the victim from the water, but the life could not be saved. The body was taken to the side with the aid of a cherry picker. It was not known what caused the person to fall into the water. The police reported that consultations were being held with the labor inspectorate about a possible investigation.
