Tanker approached by pirates
Six pirates in two speed boats approached the 'GT Equality' in the Singapore Strait in position 01 12 36N, 103 34 30E on Nov 5, 2019, at 11.50 a.m. The duty crew member noticed the pirates attempting to board the tanker and raised the alarm. The Master increased speed and took evasive anti-piracy manoeuvres, resulting in the pirates aborting their boarding attempt and leaving the area.
