Cruise ship changed itinerary due to bow thruster fault
On the "Hanseatic Nature", with around 200 guests on board, a fault was discovered during maintenance on the bow thruster on the journey south from Tromsø on March 3, 2026. To avoid the risk of transiting the Kiel Canal without a bow thruster, the "Hanseatic Nature" changed its port of call at short notice. Instead of docking at the Chicago Quay in Hamburg's Hafen City, the ship berthed at the Ostsee Quay in Kiel on March 17. The replacement parts for the bow thruster were now being delivered in such a way that they can be installed during the ship's visit to Stockholm on March 20/21. The ports of Mariehamn and Oulu have been cancelled. Then the voyage to the Baltic Sea will continue as normal with the repaired bow thruster. It will conclude in Hamburg on April 1.
