Fire on dredger in Haifa
On Dec 11, 2015, the "Hang Bo 3001" caught fire at Haifa Port. The ship’s crew escaped to shore unharmed. The bfire in the rubber insulation of the ship threatened to engulf the vessel, and authorities prepared to deploy a tug to pull the burning vessel away from the harbor. Firefighters from the Haifa Fire and Rescue Service put out the fire three hours after it started. According to an initial investigation, the fire was started accidentally by welders working during repairs of the vessel.
