Engine failur in English Channel
The 'Halicz', en route from Szczecin to Izmir with six crew members on board, suffered ab engine failure requiring cleaning of filters, and was running on one engine, in position 51 09 40.5 N, 001 26 05.9E, on Dec 10, 2019, at 10 a.m. At 12.30 p.m. the ship dropped anchor for filter change. Winds on scene were Southwest/south-southwest 35 knots, gusting at 45 knots, with gale force 9 expected. After the defects were repaired the vessel remained at anchor, until the weather has improved. The vessel was carrying 44.700 tonnes of gas oil. Meanwhile it resumed its voyage and was expected in Izmir on Dec 26 at 11 p.m.
