Ninth Indian tanker passed Strait of Hormuz without incidents

Another Indian-flagged vessel, the 'Green Asha', loaded with 15400 tons LPG, has transited the Strait of Hormuz on April 5, 2026, as the tension in the region remained high, and amid ongoing tensions and security concerns on one of the world’s most important oil shipping routes. It was the 9th Indian tanker to pass through the strait since the conflict began. The ship berthed in Nhava Sheva on April 9. Despite the tensions, India has continued to send ships through the route. Before Green Asha, at least eight Indian vessels had already crossed the strait safely, including the LPG carriers 'BW Tyr' and 'BW Elm', which transported about 94,000 tonnes of cargo through the zone, the 'Pine Gas' and 'Jag Vasant', which delivered over 92,000 tonnes of LPG between March 26 and 28. the tankers 'Shivalik' and 'Nanda Devi' ,which carried around 92,700 tonnes of LPG to Mundra Port and Kandla Port, the 'Jag Laadki', which transported about 80,800 tonnes of crude oil from the United Arab Emirates to Mundra, and the 'Jag Prakash', which carried gasoline from Oman to Africa, and the 'Green Sanvi', which carried about 46,650 metric tonnes of LPG during its transit.
