The Norden Asset Management A/S has to pay a fine after two technicians died on board the 'Nord Magic', now sailing as 'Great White', in June 2022, while inspecting an empty tank on the ship off Chittagong. The two Indian men were quickly taken to the hospital, but their lives could not be saved. A notice of fine has been sent to the shipping company. The fine will typically be DKK 20,000 for the shipowner and DKK 5,000 for each. The 'Nord Magic' had arrived in Chittagong in ballast, having delivered a cargo of soybean oil. The two men were examining one of the tanks where the soybean oil had been stored. The Maritime Accident Commission published a report on the accident in January, in which the safety procedures on the 'Nord Magic' were criticized. The Danish Maritime Authority then forwarded the report to the police. The ship has a crew of 25, who primarily come from India. The captain is Danish.

The Danish Maritime Authority has handed over its investigation into the death of two crew members of the 'Nord Magic' on June 18, 2022, now sailing as 'Great White', to the police. The Maritime Accident Commission completed its investigations in January and in its final report issued serious criticism of the safety of the ship after the two crew members had inhaled hydrogen sulphide in connection with an inspection of the ship's tanks. The casualty commission's report points to a complex of factors that made the technicians understand that starboard cargo tank 2 was safe to go down in. Among other things, did it not appear from the MSDS sheet that residues of soybean oil could cause the presence of hydrogen sulfide in the tank. In addition, weaknesses in communication between the crew members that participated in the morning meeting where the inspection was agreed and those who were on duty in the afternoon are also pointed out.
