Islamic Revolutionary Guard claimed attack on container ship
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on March 31, 2016, that it struck the 'Haiphong Express', whicv was moored at the Rashid Anchorage in pos. 25° 30' N 054° 56' E in the Persian Gulf using ballistic missiles. The move qas part of its ongoing attacks against US and Israeli targets in the region. The IRGC said the ship was targeted earlier in the day by its naval forces. It described the strike as part of the 88th wave of its drone and missile operations aimed at US bases, assets in West Asia, and Israeli targets. There was, however, no independent confirmation of the attack, damage, or crew condition.
