Captain fined for violations of MARPOL regulations
Durnig a MARPOL check on Dec 4, 2016, officials of the water police in Brunsbüttel detected a number of violations aboard the "Immanuel Schulte" in the Elbe Port. During the review of the papers of the "Immanuel Schulte" the officials found records that indicated a total of 28 unauthorized disposals of food in the Gulf of Mexico: the ship was not on its course at the time of disposal but lay at anchor or drifted. The Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency was informed of the incident. Because of further entry deficiencies in the garbage dump, the police also fined the captain.
