Man who jumped from ferry has died
A person jumped from the 'Grand Republic' in Bridgeport Harbor on Dec 10, 2024, at around 9 p.m. Dispatch was called about a person with possible mental health issues jumping from the ferry. The city's police and fire marine units, the U.S. Coast Guard, American Medical Response and mutual aid from surrounding areas responded. AMR transported a 50-year-old man to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Bridgeport Police Department has notified the next of kin.
