Engine room fire in the Northsea
The "Grand Benelux" suffered an explosion with subsequent fire in the engine room on Aug 5, 2018, around 2 p.m. The ship had sailed from Hamburg on Aug 4 at 2 p.m. At 8.15 p.m. the situation was under control while the vessel anchored North of Zeebrugge. It continued the voyage and berthed at the Antwerp Euroterminal NV on Aug 6 at 1.20 a.m. The amount of damage had yet to be assessed, and it was unclear whether also cargo had been affected. The ship sailed again on Aug 7 at 10.25 a.m. and resumed its schedule.
