Crew member died in accident
On July 29, 2020, at 6:50 p.m., the CROSS Corsen was alerted by the Guernsey Coastguard that an Indian sailor was seriously injured aboard the 'Navig8 Axinite' 40 nautical miles north of Morlaix enroute from Rotterdam to Falmouth and needed to be medevaced. The CROSS deployed a Caiman helicopter of the French Navy with a team of the Army Health Service (SSA) on board which arrived at 8:17 p.m. The team was hoisted aboard the chemical tanker at 8:20 p.m., but the SSA personnel could only pronounce the death of the sailor at 8:45 p.m. The tanker arrived off Falmouth early on July 30.
