Deadly accident in Burgas
A dock worker fell down while climbing down into the cargo hold of the "Santana", while she was docked in Burgas, on Nov 5, 2016. The accident with the 44-years-old worker happened during unloading of metal blanks from the cargo ship at berth 22. Emergency teams gave first aid to the injured worker. He was transferred to the ambulance, but died en route to the hospital. According to the preliminary investigation, the safety rules for cargo handling operations were violated by the workers who were discharging the metal blanks from the vessel. The cargo handling operations at the "Santana" were hampered during the accident, but later were restarted. The ship left Port of Burgas en route to Mariupol on Nov 6.
