Fire alarm after passengers caused smoke development
On the evening of Oct 31, 2025, there was an alarm on the 'Gotland', en route from Visby to Oskarshamn following a development of smoke. It turned out that some passengers were playing with matches. This has meant that the crew has had to go into emergency mode ,and that the fire department and police were notified at the reception. The situation was under control accodrding to the operator Destinations Gotland.
Ferry delayed due to power outage in NynÀshamn
Due to a major power outage which hit NynÀshamn on June 4, 2025, passengers who were supposed to travel between NynÀshamn and Visby had to wait for almost an hour in Helagotland before the 'Gotland' could leave the port. The power outage i meant that the gangway for pedestrian passengers could not be unloaded. The ship therefore did not leave NynÀshamn on time. The ferry, which was supposed to arrive in Visby at 3:00 p.m., arrived at the port with a delay.
