Gotland spills more than 100 liters gasoil into Rostock Port
On the morning of March 26, 2016, the cement carrier " Gotland " caused an oil slick when diesel bunkers spilled. More than 100 liters of gas oil were spilled into the harbor , forming an 850 meters large oil slick on the water surface . An oil spill response vessel of firefighters and other emergency personnel eliminated the damage . Criminal charges against the captain and officers The exact cause is still unknown. Perhaps the level indicator of the tanker was defective or the pumping capacity was too large , it said. Against the vessel's command of the freighter complaint was made and collected a security deposit of 8,000 euros .
