Ferry suffered technical issues
The 'Alsten', serving on the route Mosjøen - Hundåla, was disabled by a rope in the propeller on Feb 11, 2026, shortly after departing from Mosjøen. The ferry was adrift, and the Coast Guard transported the six passengers to shore. The ferry 'Kjella' was initially hired as a reserve ferry in the Tjøttasambandet, but had to be taken out of service due to a shortage of crew, and the service had to be suspended until further notice. The 'Alsten' left Mosjøen at around 5 p.m., headed to Sandnessjøen for repairs at the Slipen Mekaniske A/S. Due to damage to the 'Alsten', vessel reassignments were made, with the 'Tjøtta' serving the route on the afternoon of Feb 13, departing Mosjøen at 02:30 pm. according to the timetable. If there were any changes to the schedule or delays, this would be announced in the traffic report. The 'Alsten' remained stationary in Sandnessjøen as of Feb 17.
Ferry damaged by rock wall
On Sep 29, 2025, at noon, the 'Alsten', serving on the route Tjøtta – Forvik. allided with a rock wall at the ferry berth in Forvik, The ship suffered a hull in the hull above the car deck. Allision with fender wall
In the morning of Oct 30, 2013, the "Alsten" allided with a fender wall in the dock at Søvik. The ferry was on its regular Service Søvik-Austbø-Herøy-Brasøy. A female passenger suffered minor injuries when she fell on the car deck during the accident. She was treated on site and transported to the emergency room for check. Alsten allided with quay
The ferry route Søvik-Herøy was out of service in the evening of Dec 27, 2011, after the "Alsten" crashed into the ferry port at Søvik in the afternoon due to strong winds. Thew 18 passengers were not hurt. Attempts to pull off the ship were carried out by two tugs in the evening. Boreal Transport Nord thus asked travellers to take the route Sandnessjøen-Dønna instead. The Sovik-Austbø-Herøy-Brasøy-route was taken up again on Dec 28 morning at 5:50 a.m. by the replacement ferry "Løkta". Damage to the "Alsten" seemed to be, however, minor.
