Collision in Marmara Sea
The "Persenk" was in collision with the cargo m/v "Ahmet Can" (IMO: 9368182) in the Marmara Sea on May 18, 2019, at 10.30 a.m. between Marmara island and the port of Tekirdag. Both ships, which were heading towards the Dardanelles, were damaged. The bullkcarrier headded towards Tekordag Anchorage and was moored in pos. 40° 56.99' N 027° 32.58' E at 12.30 p.m. Th "Ahmet Can" also dropped anchor off Tekirdag in pos. 40° 58.04' N 027° 32.43' E. The "Persenk" was en route from Istanbul to Ashdod, the "Ahmet Can" from Istanbul to Izmir.
