Medevac off Llandudno
Llandudno’s all-weather lifeboat 'William F Yates' was launched on July 20, 2023, at 10.08 a.m. to medevac a crew member of the 'Fugro Synergy' who required urgent hospital treatment from the ship which was conducting drilling and sampling operation in the Irish Sea about 25 nautical miles north of Llandudno. The volunteer crew was on scene within an hour to begin executing the safe evacuation of the casualty from the drill ship to the lifeboat. Back at the station the casualty was transferred to an ambulance for further treatment at Ysbyty Gwynedd Bangor. The lifeboat was recovered by the volunteer shore crew at 12.25 p.m. to be washed down and prepared for the next launch.
