Medevac near Cold Bay

A Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew, forward-deployed to Cold Bay, medevaced a crew member of the 'Golden Alaska' on June 14 near Cold Bay. At approximately 3 p.m., the 17th Coast Guard District Command Center watchstanders received the request for assistance from the vessel’s crew, reporting the man had previously lost consciousness and was in an altered mental state. The Air Station Kodiak aircrew launched from Cold Bay and arrived on scene to conduct the medevac. The aircrew safely transported the 57-year-old male to Anchorage to awaiting Emergency Medical Service personnel, who then transported him to receive a higher level of care. Medevac off Cold Bay

The US Coast Guard medevaced a woman from the "Golden Alaska" near Cold Bay on Feb 28, 2019. A Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew hoisted the 28-year-old patient suffering symptoms of a respiratory infection from the fishing vessel approximately 36 miles northwest of Cold Bay. Coast Guard watchstanders in the 17th District Command Center in Juneau received initial notification about the woman’s condition from Health Force Partners on Feb 27 at 10:10 p.m. Watchstanders notified the duty flight surgeon who recommended a medevac. The helicopter crew launched from Dutch Harbor and landed in Cold Bay to refuel before arriving on-scene. On-scene weather around the time of the hoist were 26 mph winds and 7-foot seas. The helicopter brought her to Cold Bay where she was placed in the care of a Health Force Partners contracted crew in the morning for further transport to a higher level of medical care. A Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew, forward-deployed to Cold Bay, medevaced a 35-year-old man from the "Golden Alaska" 40 miles north of Cold Bay, Alaska, in the morning of Jan 30, 2019. At 10:54 p.m., on Jan 29, Coast Guard 17th District Command Center watchstanders received notification from Health Force Partners requesting a medevac for a man aboard the Golden Alaska who was reported to have been suffering from severe leg pain. The watchstanders directed the launch of the Cold Bay aircrew to conduct the medevac. The Jayhawk aircrew conducted the medevac from the "Golden Alaska" and safely transported the man to the Cold Bay clinic. He was reported to have been in stable condition upon transfer. On-scene weather was 12 mph winds, 2 to 3-foot seas with 12 miles visibility.
