Gokceada-1

The "Gokceada 1" sailed from Tuzla on Oct 10 at 1 p.m. after repairs were completed.

The Gökçeada-1", carrying over 170 passengers and 64 vehicles, suffered rudder trouble on Aug 16, 2018, at 9 a.m. The ferry was underway from the Kabatepe pier in the Çanakkale province to the island of Gökçeada when it got disabled. The ferry grounded 30 meters away from the shore. The "TCSG-903" of the Turkish Coast Guard arrived to evacuate the passengers. After the evacation of the 188 passengers of the "Gökçeada 1", the salvage tug "Kurtarıldı-4" started to refloat the grounded ferry on Apr 20 at 3 p.m. The ship was off the rocks at 4.15 p.m. and taken to Taşocakları. Itsustained some damage but there were no injuries to the 188 passengers on board the ferry which was travelling to the island of Gokceada near the mouth of the Dardanelles Strait in the Aegean Sea when it ran aground in the afternoon of Apr 19 due to strong winds.
