On Feb 25, 2022, the maritime safety investigation office Homologous in Singapore notified the Cabinete de Investigação de Acidentes Marítimos e da Autoridade para a Meteorologia Aeronáutica (GAMA) in Lisbon that the 'Elgiznur Cebi' had lost its port side anchor during an anchoring operation six nautical miles south of Changi, Singapore, in the morning of Feb 24. The bulk carrier was en route from Hazira to Tianjin with an ETA as of March 6. An investigation into the incident was launched, amd the GAMA started the evidence collection procedures for analysis and has notified the European Commission through EMCIP.
