Vehicles carrier allided with kilometer marker
Enroute from Montevideo to Zárate, the 'Glovis Champion' passed too close to the riverbank and snagged a buoy in the Paraná River near Zárate on Nov 27, 2025. The hull suffered scratches and was punctured above the water line at starboard side. There were no injuries or spills. The Argentinian Coast Guard was verifying the kilometer marker and the replacement of the signal. The ship left Zárate again on Nov 30, enroute to Vitoria, where it arrived on Dec 7. Grounding on the Ems
On March 8, 2020 at 7.15 p.m. the 'Glovis Champion' ran aground near the port entrance of Emden while leaving the harbour. Two assistance tugs were unable to refloat the vessel due to the strong currents. Only with the rising tide they managed to pull the vessel back into the fairway, and it returned to port for surveyas and investigations by the police. The Ems traffic control and the the responsible trade association for transport issued a sailing ban. The ship finally left the port on March 9 at 11.40 p.m., headed to Bremerhaven with an ETA as of March 11.
