Collision in Philippines Sea
On Jan 7, 2017, at 3.45 a.m. the "Sevilla Carrier" slammed into the stern of the tuna fishing vessel "Hsiang Yung No. 6" (MMSI-No.: 416003665) in the Philippines Sea in position 19 28N 129 36E, 515 miles East-South-East from Eluanbi, the southernmost tip of Taiwan. The hull of the fishing vessel was breached with ensuing water ingress, but there was no risk to the crew of 10, two Taiwanese and eight Indonesian nationals, aboard the fishing vessel. The "Sevilla Carrier" remained nearby. Although the damaged fishing vessel was able to sail, its crew has been advised to wait for the other Taiwanese fishing vessel which was expected to reach them later in the evening.
