Convoy underway for salvage of sunken tug
Smit Salvage was tasked to raised the sunken 21-m-tug "Dirk Pieter" (ENI-No.: 02011586),on the Suriname river which had foundered on Oct 15, 2015. On Sep 9, 2016, the "DMS Stork" left the port of Rotterdam for this purpose with the "Smitbarge 1" which was carrying large amounts of salvage material. First stop was to be in Las Palmas, ETA Sep 23.
