Tanker allided with two ferries
The "Ethane Opal", while manoeuvring close to four vessels, allided with two ferries at Qantara while transiting the Suez Canal, southbound, on Jan 15, 2018, at noon. The tanker was located 14 nautical miles from Ismailia, Suez Canal, in lat 30 49 23.89N, long 32 19 03.94E, at 8 p.m. Some constructions were damaged or destroyed. The tanker was refloated and taken further down to km mark 47 for repairs. The hull was breached with ensuing water ingress. Repairs were carried out by Jan 18 on the Great Bitter Lake.
