Ferry assisted distressed yacht
In the evening of Nov 28, the "Gloppefjord" received a Mayday signal from a boat at 8.18 p.m. The trimaran with two people on board had major problems with the steering. The "Gloppefjord" responded to the signal, and diverted to assist the boat, which was adrft in rough sea at Hundvikfjorden and threatened to run aground. At 9.10 p.m. the "Gloppefjord" was towing the boat to the dock at Anda-Lote and resumed its service at 9.45 p.m.
Battery ferry stuck at charging station
The "Gloppefjord" was stuck in the charging station and did not get away from the dock on Lote side in the afternoon of March 20, 2018. A charging plug was stuck so the ferry could not disconnect from the charging station. Just before 5.30 p.m. the problem was resolved and the ferry returned to the service to Anda. The "Eidfjord" was also affected as she had to wait outside the fjord for the "Gloppefjord" to come lose. Fully-electric GLOPPEFJORD and EIDSFJORD delivered from Tersan Shipyard
The two fully-electric ferries, GLOPPEFJORD and EIDSFJORD, built for Norwegian ferry company Fjord 1 have been delivered by the Turkish Tersan Shipyard and are on their way to their new homewaters.
