En route from the Russian port of Ust-Luga, where it had sailed on Oct 10, to Karabiga, the 'Eternal Bright', loaded with 75,650 tons of coal, suffered an enigine breakdown off Kepez during the transit of the Çanakkale Strait on Oct 30, 2025, at 3 a.m. UTC. Under the coordination of the Çanakkale Ship Traffic Services Center; and assisted by a strait pilot, it was ttaken in tow by the tugs 'Kurtarma 3' (IMO: 9335939) and 'Kurtarma 19' (IMO: 9995129). The bulk carrier was then pulled back to the Karanlık Liman anchorage, where it was safely moored in pos. 40° 02' N 026° 19' E at around 5 a.m. and remained stationary as of Nov 5.
