Tug saved two castaways

The "Alonso de Chaves" rescued two crew members of the yacht "Julia Maria" which sank three miles off Cabo Peรฑas in the night of Dec 6, 2017. Salvamento Maritimo was alerted by the wife of the skipper at 11 p.m. He had left the port of San Juan de la Arena in the early afternoon and had intended to return at 8 p.m. But they did not come to port, and the mobile phones were off. After a search during the night, which also involved the "Salvamar Rรญgel", the "Alonso de Chaves" located them in the water at 6 a.m. They were clinging to one end of the bow of their practically submerged yacht. The crew of the "Alonso de Chaves" pulled them aboard. The helicopter Helimer 203 evacuated them to El Musel for treatment where they were taken to the Hospital de Jove in stable state.
