Oil leak from FPSO Cidade de Sao Paulo, Brazil
An oil leak was found in the Bay of Ilha Grande, Angra dos Reis, Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil, last week Dec 12-18 2011. Estimated 4,4 tons of oil spilled into the water from FPSO Cidade de Sao Paulo. Samples of oil were taken and compared with samples of oil in tanks of FPSOs standing in the area, the tests lead to FPSO Cidade de Sao Paulo, whose manager, MODEC INC Japan, may be fined up to $50 mil. COSCO Dalian completes VLCC to FPSO conversion job
Chinese shipyard COSCO Dalian has completed its part of the conversion of the VLCC Radiant Jewel into what will be FPSO Cidade de Sao Paulo MV23, to be deployed in the pre-salt region of Brazil's Santos Basin, MarineLog reports. The FPSO will be capable of processing 120,000 barrels of oil or 150,000 barrels of total fluids per day.
