Glard-2

After the collision of the 'Glard-2' with the Turkish fishing vessel 'Dursun Ali Coşkun', which has six crew members on board, at the entrance of the Istanbul Strait off Rumelifeneri Area, in position 41 19.50 N, 29 02 50 E,, the dead bodies of three fishermen were found by the Coast Guard and transferred to the shore. The 'Glard 2' continued its voyage from Rostov-on-Don to Izmir after investigations and dropped anchor off Istanbul on Jan 21 at 2.30 a.m. in pos. 40° 58.66' N 028° 57.14' E while the investigations were continued. The ship finally arrived in Izmir on Jan 27 at 9 a.m.

The tanker was en route from Rostov-on-Don to Izmir. The fishing vessel sank within a few minutes, three of the six crew members were rescued by nearby other fishermen.
