Giskoey

The 'Giskøy' sufferd a technical problem and had to be withdrawn from the Sulesund-Hareid route in the afternoon of Feb 27, 2020, at 3.10 p.m. One ramp did not open, and as a result, the ferry had to turn around and the cars had to reverse in Sulesund. Fjord1 however, did not have to install a spare ferry which they had available in Hjørungavåg as the error could re rectified in the run of the day. In the meantime the route continued to be served by the ferries 'Hadarøy' and 'Suløy'.

On Sep 30, 2019, the 'Giskøy' serving the route Hareid-Sulesund, allided with the ferry dock at Hareid just before 11.20 a.m. The ship hid with great speed, and its bow ramp was damaged. She was able to drop off cars and its 36 passengers, none of whom was injured, at the second ferry dock, and that the other two ferries have used that berth after the crash. Sailings on the route were cancelled until 4 p.m. The Norwegian Maritime Directorate launched an investigation. The damaged ferry headed to Sulesund where the damage was to be repaired at a shipyard. Havyard has delivered GISKØY to Fjord1, the third unit in a series of five hybrid electric double-ender ferries, the hull of which was built by Cemre Shipyard in Turkey. Together with its December 2018-delivered sisters SULØY and HADARØY, GISKØY will service the Hareid to Sulesund route.
