Tug and tank barge grounded in Wilmington
The Coast Guard responded to the grounding of the "Miss Gill" and a barge that went aground on Oct 30, 2015, off Wilmington. The tug was pushing the tank barge "Delaware", carrying approximately 1.3 million gallons of asphalt, when they ran aground in the morning. Personnel from Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay in Philadelphia arrived on scene, and Kirby Offshore Marine, the company that owns the barge, developed a salvage plan. The ships were later refloated.
