Ferry assisted three migrants on jet ski
The 'Girolata', en route from Tanger-Med to Marseille, located three migrants of North African origin on a jet ski 26 nautical miles south of Punta Baños on Aug 9, 2022, at 4.50 a.m. The crew lowered its fast rescue boat to assist them. Medevac of sick passenger
On Oct 3, 2021, a passenger of the 'Girolata', en route from Tanger Med to Marseille, fell ill. After a consultation with the RadioMédico center it requested the urgent evacuation by helicopter. The MRCC in Valencia mobilized the SAR helicopter Helimer 211, which hoisted the patient and transferred him the Alicante airport where an ambulance was waiting for transfer to hospital.
Blocked ferry left Marseille
The "Girolata" was finally able to leave Marseille bound for Ajaccio in the evening of Nov 26, 2015, The ferry had been blocked by striking sailors of the SNCM during the day.
