Tanker rescued 59 migrants
The 'Zagara', en route from Benghazi, carried out two rescue operations, the first about 100 miles from Benghazi, where 27 people were taken aboard, and a subsequent one, during which 32 boat people were rescued. The tanker headed to Pozzallo with 59 migrants and two bodies on board then. As there are lighting problems on the commercial quay and on the shore, and the harbour master's vehicles were undergoing maintenance, the ship changed its route again during the night of Nov 4, 2022, and headed towards Augusta where it arrived on Nov 5 at 11 a.m.
